Hello from the AGU in America 2007 team

Greetings to all AGU in America participants for 2007! My name is Nina Liakos, and I am the program coordinator; I also teach the writing class, where you will be reading and writing (yes, in English!) about your experiences in the U.S. and posting your impressions to your own weblog! I am planning lots of activities for you, and I am very much looking forward to meeting you in August!

Greetings! I'm looking forward to meeting and working with all of you in August. I'm planning class activities that will give you lots of chances to listen to and practice speaking in English. It'll be fun and I know you'll make great progress while you're here. We're busy preparing for your arrival and hoping August is not too hot this year.
Shirley Thompson, AGU2007 Instructor

Hi everyone! My name is Laura and I'll be working with you as a mentor. I'm currently finishing up my year as an exchange student at Keio University, but I look forward to meeting you in August!

Hi! My name is Sophia Burton and I'm a student mentor for the 2007 AGU in American program. I just graduated from the University of Maryland with a degree in American Studies and German, and am leaving in September to teach English to high schoolers in France. I'm very excited to meet all of you!

Hello, Nina.
I'm so glad to see AGU 2007 started to move finally! Reading about you and the mentors (some of them really look familiar, hehehe) made me excited even though I'm not gonna be the one who will be there this year.

Anyway, I can at least leave comments on blogs of the participants. I'm already looking forward to reading blogs written by them!

See you~.^^

Hi, Hiromi! Thanks for being the first to post a comment on our new AGU blog! :-) I am delighted to hear that you will be reading this year's blogs. I wish you were going to be here too! We are going to do some of the same things we did last year (Annapolis) and also some different (visit a TV station).

Anyway, I hope the 2nd AGU in America program have great success:)

Now most of AGU guys have a lot of task (papers, mid-term exams, preparation for final exam and something like that...). So some guys cannot join the communicaiton on this blog, i think.

But all of members of AGU 2007 must have great expectations!

Hello,Nina.
My name is Keina ,who is plannning to join this project this August.
I can't wait to see all of you!
I have a question.
I heard that we can play tennnis on the campus.
Do you think I should bring my racket and tennnis shoes?
I need your answer.
Please write me back soon.
See you (^o^)/~

Keina, You should bring your racket and shoes (balls if you like; of course you can buy balls here). There are tennis courts on campus which you are free to use. In addition, the Tennis Center at College Park offers clinics and classes; check out their prices at http://www.thetccp.com/adult.html. Is there somebody else in the group with whom you can play?
