At last--they're here!

The day we've been anticipating for so long finally arrived! The group, escorted by Richard Evanoff, landed right on time at Dulles International Airport. It did not take them long to go through immigration and customs, and soon we were all in the big, black Terrapin motor coach, heading to Washington, DC. We drove past the Lincoln Memorial, the Washington Monument, the White House, the National Archives, the Smithsonian museums and the National Gallery, the Capitol, Union Station, and other big government buildings before passing beneath the Chinese arch on H Street and heading out to College Park along Rhode Island Avenue. We arrived at the Quality Inn at 2:00 and the group checked in. They had a couple of hours to rest and then they were to meet the mentors for a campus tour and dinner. I hope they will go to bed early and sleep well, as we have a big day tomorrow!

Dear Nina,
What a wonderful experience your students will have. I wish I were part of it to enjoy it too, but I appreciate your letting us participate on-line and hope to read here about these exciting two weeks.

All the best, saludos y cariƱos,
Berta
